Immediately on the edge of the Forests Bergen lies the wonderfully grown ponds on which almost every species of wild and water fowl is native, the romantic forester's lodge Seebergen. The approximately 70,000 sqm comprehensive property was part of the former estate Seebergen.
In 1951, the forester's lodge was converted into a restaurant and opened by Werner Genke. In 1960, the first cultivation took place; a hotel with 11 rooms inaugurated in 1964 and adapted to the needs of guests over the years.
In 1972 Peter Genke entered his father's business. In 1980 he took over the position of managing director; In 1988 the forester's lodge, because his father retired for reasons of age. In 1989 the "Barraum" and the reception were created.
Two years later, the new kitchen was built, which we brought from the basement to the restaurant level. At the same time, the former veranda was turned 90 degrees and the mirror hall was built. Since the year 2000 we offer with the newly built ballroom the possibility to spoil societies up to 120 people. Since the death of Peter Genke in 2007, his wife Brigitte Genke and her two daughters Franziska and Ulrike are leading the Forsthaus Seebergen. This year, the new hotel annex, which was planned and opened by Peter Genke, opened with 20 rooms.
